Yes, this laptop has a CD/DVD drive. The difference between an everyday laptop and a gaming laptop is performance. An everyday laptop could have the same processors or under with not as much RAM and integrated graphics card which relies on the memory of the motherboard. The key things to look for are the processor (brains) and RAM. The better brains you have, the faster the computer will process. An average computer comes with 4 gigabytes of RAM. The operating system uses about 2 gigabytes. The more RAM you have, the more you can do on the computer at one time. And if you want the discrete graphics card for high end gaming, video or photo editing or just performance, I would suggest getting a computer with a discrete graphics card.
