There really isn't much the geek squad can do to screw it up. If when you started the laptop and it asked you to input the user administrator data and time zone etc. then you should be fine. Now getting them to care enough to call you back will never happen. they really cant provide you much assistance over the phone. Always go into the store if you really need the to help you. Aside from that the Geek Squad are not much differently trained than the usual Best Buy Sales Floor employee. If you want real answers go to places like YouBreakIFix or look up a specialty PC repair store. Lastly Beggars Cant be choosers. Educate yourself if you want real help. I didnt go to school for anything computer or electronic related. I utilized the internet and Wikipedia to learn on my own. NewEgg.com is a good source to explore whats out there.
