The easiest way around not having Microsoft Office on a computer without spending money is to download the entirely free Apache openoffice suite of programs. Go to openoffice.org and follow the instructions for downloading and installing there. These programs include a word processor a spreadsheet and a powerpoint like program. Openoffice has its own file structure, but will both read from and write to files that have docx, xlsx, and pptx extensions. Openoffice isn't totally compatible with Microsoft Office, but issues probably only arise if you are doing something fairly esoteric. Basic word like documents spreadsheets and presentations can normally move back and forth pretty smoothly The menus on openoffice programs look similar to but not identical to those Microsoft uses. I have worked a lot with both openoffice and Microsoft office and edited books for publication using both programs.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine did not. I used my own version of Microsoft Office, which I bought for my previous computer. I just signed in to my Microsoft account and downloaded it to the new computer.
