Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, however I would recommend buying a Solid State Hard drive to allow the laptop to perform to it's true potential. They go for about $60 online and are easily swapped by any tech savvy individual. This would also allow you to the use the current 1TB hard drive as an external backup, which I love. Few budget laptops come with Solid State hard drives already installed because it is more cost effective to install the old type of hard drives in them. Any computer can only go as fast as it's slowest part, so again if you want optimal performance on this notebook I can't recommend this upgrade enough. All other features of the laptop seem to be quick and responsive. If your student is going to be using commercial software on this laptop at college (such as CAD or ADOBE) you may want to consider upgrading the RAM(memory) as well. (Also very simple) But short of using heavy editing or multimedia programs this laptop will handle casual computing with ease.
