“Purchased this item in the store after specifically asking the salesman for desktop with CD/DVD reader... now finding out that the slot in front of the computer that looks like a reader is not. Why is this slot there and isn't this misleading?”

HI Barb. Sorry but this computer does not come with a built-in DVD drive. There is an internal space for an Optical Drive: 1 x 9.5 mm slim (available). You would need to punch out or cut out the cover on the bezel for the drive.
