• Good question. The reason the chip is not know is because when the EliteBook was first released, you could configure it in many different ways. This is the EliteBook 8460p. I will give you a link to the spec sheet for the EliteBook 8460p which lists the different configurations it can come in: http://www.levnapc.cz/ProductsFiles/hp-elitebook-8460p-technicka-specifikace-en.pdf I hope this helps.

• From the website given by the HP folks above, it says: Intel® Core™ i7-2620M (2.70 GHz, 4 MB L3 cache); Intel® Core™ i5-2540M (2.60 GHz, 3 MB L3 cache); Intel® Core™ i5-2520M (2.50 GHz, 3 MB L3 cache); Intel® Core™ i5-2410M (2.30 GHz, 3 MB L3 cache) Yes, there are several options, but the only one that fits the original descriptions is Intel® Core™ i5-2520M (2.50 GHz, 3 MB L3 cache), a very capable processor.
