Yes, you can remove and replace the hdd for one with greater storage. You can access it by powering off the system, removing the battery, and then removing a few screws from the square compartment to the side of the battery compartment area. You would have to clone your data and OS over if you wanted it to remain on your laptop. This one in particular comes with an ssd which is faster than hdd so switching over may affect performance.
