“I had an Envy dv7, and after a while the right hinge began to break, causing a number of other problems. From the pictures, this model has one long central hinge instead. Has anyone had any problems with this new hinge yet? How's the chassis overall?”

• The computer is the most solidly built laptop I have seen. The hinge does appears to be well constructed. I have not had any problems.

• I have owned it for about a month and still no regrets with this model. Hinge seems stable.
