“Should this laptop take almost a full minute to start up? I just bought this computer last night and already I'm not thrilled. This computer is suppose to be lightning fast and it is taking a full minute to start up, even longer on a restart. Is that normal? Even opening apps and loading the internet are lagging. I am expecting the speed I'm used to with my ipad. Am I expecting too much?”

maybe try to do the updates. Mine boots up in seconds (very surprising considering the 5400rpm drive) and everything is very fast.

You may want to see what apps you have setup to run at startup. It may be a large app causing your lag. Otherwise, the guys at Geek Squad are awesome. Take the laptop into your local store, they will help you out.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Quindo The laptop comes with a 5400 RPM standard. That is why I was hoping to get the M.2 drive bay working. The 5400s while good from a battery savings standpoint...suck as in the most important task of transferring files and booting into windows. I had the same issue with the RoG(BestBuy special) I replaced the HP with until I installed an M.2 SSD. Now its boots in 3 seconds and I use the 5400 as a storage drive. One thing of note here, ASUS is not afraid to give the BB Specials full upgradeability, unlike HP who is looking for your money. Hence why these things are on clearance. Respectfully SGCloud
