Thank you for your concern about the hinges on the Envy 2-in-1. HP has made improvements in the hinge designs over each generation. Hinge replacement covered under the one-year parts and labor warranty if they fail within the first year, as well as the Geek Squad protection plans if they fail with in that period. Inquire with Geek Squad for an out-of-warranty replacement quote.
