I'm not a pro or an HP rep, but I believe you would have no problems using this printer with your set-up. The printer itself plugs into a wall socket for power, it does not operate on battery. The "wireless" part of it is that it can be recognized on your wireless network and you can print from a laptop or desktop that is not physically connected to the printer. Therefore, you can place the printer where it is convenient. Most printers nowadays are network compatible, but can also be directly connected to your desktop (as I do for my laserjet). If I recall, the ink package (black + color) was about $40, but you can get extended life ink and even bulk packs at Costco. This printer takes cartridge 63.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a laptop using Windows 7 Home Premium and the printer works fine with it. I would think as long as you have wireless capability it would work. Bonnie
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This printer does not use a battery, it is plugged into the wall and connects to computers over wifi printing. Ink varies where you buy it, but HP does have yearly plans for replacement ink.
