“With the Tri color cartridge, does this printer allow you to continue printing in color if one color is empty but the other two aren't? Or does it require you to replace the cartridge thereby throwing out the ink that is left for the other colors?”

• It does let you continue to print but the page ends up blank or severely discolored.

• I have not tried this but on any other printer this worked: in the print settings use black and white, not grey or color. This by passes the color. Good luck.
