Yes, I have used 8 1/2x 11 paper and it prints photos to the full page.

To print photos without having to pay for the ink, be sure to include HP Instant Ink with your purchase. When you sign up for an HP Instant Ink plan, you pay a low monthly fee to print a defined number of pages per month. The plans are based on the number of pages you can print, not on how many ink cartridges you use. Full-color photos and text both cost the same. Your monthly fee covers ink, shipping, and recycling. If you print less than your allotment in a month, pages will roll over... up to double the plan. If you print more pages, you just pay $1 for an additional set of pages at the same cost per page. Our less expensive printers qualify for 15 pages FREE per month... including this one! You can also choose from our other plans: $2.99 for 50 pages, $4.99 for 100 pages, or $9.99 for 300 pages.
