No, the printer is not compatible with the Chrome OS.

Yes - I've hooked up my other HP Envy via google cloud print which allows you to print from a chromebook. I believe a majority of HP envy's are google cloudprint ready. Look for the logo and it will work. With cloud print you could even print from your phone!
