I don't know if Windows xp is supported, but my guess is that it is. If you have a newer version of Windows then you are good. I am using my laptop that is about 8 years old with Windows 7 and it works great

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was able to use the supplied software on my 7 year old Toshiba laptop running Windows Vista with SP2, and connect to the printer. The printer itself connects to your wi-fi network. Once that is done, use the HP software to install the device to your machine. I also connected a 7 year old desktop machine running Windows 7 with SP1, and a 2 year old desktop running Windows 8.1. It really wasn't bad to set this up. Follow the supplied instructions and you will be good to go. I hope that helps.
