“I won't use the color print. Only black. Can i just use black ink? Or do i have to buy color ink? I know it comes with ink cartridges, but whent he colored ink is empty, do i need to replace if i just print black? TIA”

Unfortunately, yes, you will need to keep a colored ink cartridge in it's slot, even though you will not be using color. The printer will not print without both the color and black cartridges installed. I use color and have to replace it with a fresh cartridge, but you may want to try leaving the empty color cartridge in it's holster. If it does not print with just the black ink, you will have to replace the color cartridge. Hope this helps.
