At my time of purchase, the Best Buy representative offered us a One-Time purchase of the Microsoft Office Suite or a Discount on the Yearly Subscription. As for recommendations, it completely depends on the purpose of the purchase. If it is for home-use only the Microsoft Office Suite should be enough.

To process your work. If you save your work. You should if possible install a second hard drive to store all your work. The drive should be used for progress.
