No, the laptop does not have a CD/DVD drive.

The reason most manufacturers have eliminated drives is two fold - they produce a great deal of heat and they are some of the first things on the computer to breakdown. This can cause many problems for the user because it means having to send your laptop away for days or even weeks to have it repaired. Most users can't spare that time. External disk drives are very cheap (some start less that $50) and a Blu-ray drive less than $80 is common at Best Buy. I bought one for this laptop as I make digital copies of my DVD movies for my own use to play on breaks, vacations, travel, etc. Once I transfer my CD's or DVD's, I don't use it for anything else. This way, my laptop is lighter in weight, too.
