None of these answers are helpful. If you search the internet for hours like I did, you will realize that NOT EVERY STYLUS WILL WORK! People should not just answer a question "assuming". Even HP can't recommend a stylus that will work with this model. I found this thread because I have continued to search in hopes that someone really knows of any brand that will work. Sorry I can't name one, but I do want to respond that the answer is more complicated than these answers. I have a regular stylus that doesn't work, but I really want an active stylus. Some people do state that the correct software needs to be updated for the active stylus to work, but it isn't with this particular model. Apparently, there is an issue with HP laptops and stylus compatibility. Even their own active pen doesn't work with all of their touchscreen models. Here is an article HP posted that gives a grid on the laptop model and the appropriate stylus, but this model isn't in it. And on another thread, an HP employee does state that this model isn't listed and they need to further update the document as they "test" them for stylus compatibility??? Not very comforting.... http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05166879
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A stylus is not needed for this computer. It works equally well with an inexpensive stylus or fingertips, though a stylus can give you greater precision. It does not appear to be compatible with the active stylus products (those that are pressure sensitive, for example), but the rubber tip, fiber tip, or disc tip (fine point) ones all work great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Works with or without a stylus, in fact probably better without. Any old cheap stylus will work, as that's what we have and it works fine for it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do not need a stylus. You can use one if you prefer to keep fingerprints off your screen (and any cheap one will work), but it's not necessary. I find that my finger is perfectly fine for using the screen. Unless you're doing extremely fine detail, or drawing, you won't need the stylus. If you ARE drawing, and don't want to use your finger, then yeah, you'd want a stylus, but I can't think of a need for one beyond very specialized uses.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A stylus is not needed. Touch screen works great with just a finger, but I did try a cheap stylus and it worked just fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A Stylus is not needed for this computer. it doesn't support WACOM styli, so I would say that it doesn't work any better than your finger, as long as the stylus is capacitive I would think any would work
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A stylus is not required for this laptop. All basic operations work fine with your finger. Having said that, for things like Photoshop, a stylus might be better for small precise moves of the mouse. I haven't used a stylus on the laptop, so I cant recommend one over another. I would recommend asking in an HP forum, or asking HP directly. Hope that helps. Richard
