A:AnswerIt's a digital shutter on mine; there's a button on the F-Key row to toggle the use of the webcam. There's always masking tape or a sticky-note if that's not good enough. (I don't trust the digital shutter either.)

Yes, the motherboard can be replaced if it fails or the entire computer could be replaced depending on the circumstances. Here is a link to the Maintenance and Service Guide for this laptop. A:AnswerI have been using Autodesk 2017 with the HP Envy x360m-ed1023dx for the last month. It has ran flawlessly and doesn't stutter of freeze ever. I did increase the RAM immediately upon purchase, but it was definitely not necessary. CAD runs better on this laptop than on my 3 year old work station.
