• It doesn't come with a DVD nor CD player... Most of the smaller laptops no longer have DVD or CD drives built in. But you can always purchase a USB DVD drive for ~$50 and then you should be able to play DVDs on this device, or you may have to purchase additional software... I just purchased mine, but haven't open box yet. Just got it today...

• It doesn't come with DVD Player software preinstalled...so you would need 3rd party software.
