No. You would think today two devices could both listen and decide who should take the call. The problem is which device answers the phone--once the phone is answered that device has to handle it. This device is a fax, not an answering machine. What you can do is only plug in the fax when you are expecting a fax, and have it answer before your voice mail does. When you unplug it again, your voice mail will still be there waiting for ring number 3 or 4.
