Well, depends on how hard you shop and if you buy the HP or "other" brand cartridges. Also depends if you use the XL (longer life) or regular portion ones. In general, based on our limited experience, the cartridges far outlast the ink wells and, in the end, its probably going to be a toss up between the two (relatively equal). However, you'll lay out more for cartridges as they last longer. I found a full set of the cartridges (all colors plus black) for less than $150 a set (this is the extended life version too) but I had to buy 2 sets.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The cartridges run around 100.00 for black to 120.00 to the other three colors. The sad thing is that a set of cartridges only prints around two reams of paper.
