- Answer The m477fdn has automatic two-sided printing and the m477fnw has manual. Also the m477fnw has built-in wi-fi whereas the other one does not.

- Answer The Best Buy guy told us the toner cartridges it comes with lasts about 2300 pages. They are $85 each.

QuestionDoes this product use Efax????I have to ask this question... if the pictures of the hp laserjet pro mfp m477fnw color all in one printer, do not show any ports for phone lines and the specifications do not state that it uses the efax software app... how exactly does this machine fax??? I see the manual shows ports for phone lines ... is it customary to post incorrect photos of the products? Baffled, can anyone supply an answer here?

QuestionSo let me get this straight. The m477fnw has direct Wi-Fi printing but no duplex printing and the m477fdw has network capabilities (but no direct Wi-FI) but no duplex printing. What were the knuckleheads at HP thinking (or not). Perhaps I need both??

- Answer Yes, quite a stupid move by HP. However, you don't have it quite right. The m477fdw DOES have auto duplex. f = fax d = duplex w = wireless That said, you have the following: m477fnw: fax, no auto duplex, wireless m477fdn: fax, auto duplex, no wireless m477fdw: fax, auto duplex, wireless Ironically, the m477fnw is available in most stores but it is the one that I would stay away from due to it's inability to auto duplex.

- Answer This unit supports the following paper sizes: letter, legal, executive, Oficio (8.5" x 13"), 3" x 5", 4" x 6", 5" x 8", envelopes (No. 10, Monarch). The supported media weights are as follows: Tray 1: 16 to 47 lb (up to 52 lb with HP Color laser glossy photo papers); Tray 2: 16 to 43 lb (up to 47 lb with postcards, up to 52 lb with HP Color laser glossy photo papers); optional Tray 3: 16 to 43 lb (up to 47 lb with postcards, up to 40 lb with HP Color laser glossy photo papers); Automatic duplexer: 16 to 43 lb.

- Answer Great question. The difference is that the m477fdw does automatic 2-sided printing and has NFC touch-to-print capabilities and the m477fnw has manual 2-sided printing and no NFC. QuestionI read on one review that the printer goes into sleep mode after a certain amount of time. The review went on to say that you are Unable to print from a Mobile device or IPad while in this mode. Said you need to go and turn it back on. Is that true

- Answer Yes, you can use the printer and all its functions using the usb to your desktop. We have two of these printers in the office, one direct cable hook up and one via wireless. Works great either way.

- Answer This printer has many advanced security features such as password protection for scanning to network folders, Admin system passwords to protect the settings, and private or encrypted print jobs that require a PIN or password. However, you can not lock down the Copy function to prevent someone from making a copy when they walk up to the printer.
