• The m477fdn has automatic two-sided printing and the m477fnw has manual. Also the m477fnw has built-in wi-fi whereas the other one does not.

• The m477fdn duplexes (two-sided printing). The m477fnw does not. That is the only difference (besides the price). I checked with HP, you cannot purchase a duplexing option for the m477fnw.

I can tell you definitively that the following are the differences... m77fnw: no auto duplexing; wireless printing m477fdn: auto duplexing; no wireless printing m477fdw: auto duplexing; wireless printing Why HP decides to switch up their features like this is anyone's guess. It just makes it confusing. Nonetheless, those are the differences.
