Whether you have a dedicated phone line or your regular home landline. 2: eFax is a digital/electronic fax system. You don't need a phoneline for it to work. It uses your email address to send and receive electronic fax. All you need for eFax is a computer, email account, and Internet access.

It will also allow the faxing of whatever document you have from a computer or other device, but the item to be faxed must be on the device. The actual fax itself then becomes an attachment to an email. The HP printer can receive emails but has no way to open the attachment and print it. One way around that would be to open the email and the attachment using a different device, computer or smartphone, and then print the attachment on the printer from wherever you may be by email. As for sending faxes, the printer can scan whatever and allow that to be sent in email form from another device or if connected to a telephone line it will do a traditional fax for you, but that isn't fax.
