• yes, comes w cartridges, the Black is a smaller 'initial' one though.

• Yes it comes with an initial set of ink. So you'll be ready to go once it's set up. Highly recommend signing up for the Instant Ink program. Especially if you and the kids have lots of projects to go through.

• Retail package Includes ink, we also signed up for the minimal ink-by-mail program and received a shipment of ink within a week-ten days by US Mail, have not needed to refill yet after about two months (again we print minimally, maybe 15 sheets monthly which is minimum package).
