“I have an HP 6968 all in one printer. It's brand new. I keep getting vertical scan lines on documents I scan to pdf. I've tried everything recommended. is there a way to get rid of the scan lines? unplugging the device doesn't work”

Go to settings and printer maintenance and run the maintenance programs. Also if you're using the document feeder to perform the scan open the top and clean the wheels with rubbing alcohol on a q-tip.
