• Marty; HP always releases similar models all the time. Get use to it. In this case, there's really no significant difference between the HP Officejet 6968 and the HP Officejet 6978. Page printouts for both are at 30 ppm (mono) and 26 ppm (color). Print cartridges are the same with 902 black and color. In reviewing both items, I would pick the higher model of the two. You're are hoping to get at least 5 solid years of performance from either model, so pick the 6978. Best of luck.
