“Why doesn't the paper tray in my HP OfficeJet Pro 8135 printer have a locking position for 8-1/2x11 paper. When I slide the two halves together to fit 8-1/2x11 paper, it does not lock in place, therefore, when I try to print multiple page the paper jams.”

They won't allow me to comment on the HP reply, so I will add the information here. I am not talking about the paper width. It is the paper length that has the problem. The paper tray is missing a lock to allow for 11" long paper.

The side paper guides will not lock into place, but gently sit against the sides of the paper stack. Make sure that the guides are touching the paper. Please see page 11 of the User Guide that you can obtain at the HP Support website.
