• Yes, if one of the color cartridges is played out, the unit gives you the option of printing in black only (Grayscale), which is a much better deal than most of the printers out there that just stop printing! So this is a distinct improvement over other vendors, and even other HP units, as you can still keep printing off if color cartridges are depleted. You just do not remove them physically from the unit until you have the replacement to put in. No big deal!
