- Answer The 8620 is a decent photo printer; however, nothing like a dedicated photo printer like a Canon Selphy or the like. The photos are OK and quite serviceable; however, if you are looking for the best in photo reproduction and printing, look to a dedicated photo printer. Otherwise, it does fine. HP makes several models that have a special 'black photo' ink cartridge, too. This one does not have that feature.

Questionprinter shuts down after 15 minutethe printer shuts down after being on for 15 minutes and displays printer error. I restart printer and works fine for 15 min then shuts down again. need help HP IS NOT PROVIDING ANY FIXES.

- Answer Yes you can. It gives you the option of which method to save it as and send the scan to when you hit the scan button.

- Answer You can print from Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, 8 or 8.1, You can also print from Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 or 10.9.

QuestionThe nozzles constantly keep plugging up, why is that and how can I keep it from doing that?I don't use the printer very often maybe 5-10 sheets a day and not on the weekends. I've had the printer for about 8 months and is the second time that the nozzle heads get plugged and it goes thru a whole lot of ink to get them clean, just went thru 2 cartridges and still plugged. I am very disappointed with this printer.

- Answer I haven't had that problem.... yet! I've had this printer for about 3 months and have had nothing but problems. It is so slow, I feel like I am in the last millennium. And always having trouble with it communicating with my computers. Sucks!

- Answer You are probably not putting it in the lowest opening. I had the same issue at first. Make sure that it is at the very bottom of the printer.

- Answer Yes. I've done it and you can scan/copy any size of paper that will fit into the feeder or lay on the glass as long as it fits within the markings by the glass top.

- Answer I connected the Officejet 8620 to an Ubuntu Linux system and it works. (I tried all 3 connections: USB, Ethernet via a router and wirelessly. They all work).

- Answer I know you can print using an iPad 2 as well as as an iPhone 6. I presume that the drivers between the two (AirPrint) are the same or very similar since this would be driven by the device's operating system.

QuestionSimultaneous / Dual connectivity possible? (Wired and Wireless)We would like to connect this printer to two different computers simultaneously. One uses wireless to access the internet the other only uses the ethernet. So they are on two different "networks" so to speak. Can we set up the printer to be accessible to both? Use a wireless connection for the wireless computer and a USB connection for the ethernet style computer ? Will that cause a problem with the printer?

- Answer You shouldn't have any problems with that. just ensure when you load the software you load the wired connection for the wired PC, and wireless for the wireless units.

- Answer The 8620 has a 600 dpi scan feature (from glass only - meaning that you may not use the paper feed function to scan at this density.) You should be able to select this mode from the touchscreen scan menu.

- Answer Usually, sale prices on items run from 00:00 on Sundays until 23:59:59 the following Saturday. If your purchase isn't completed by the cutoff, the price reverts to the pre-sale price - even if the item is in your cart but not purchased. If you're still interested in the HP 8620, it's back on sale now - at the current sale price, it's a great deal - I have one, and I love it!
