• Absolutely. Through HDMI or mini display port. The Mini display port connects directly with the GPU.

• So I have an external 2560x1080 21:9 144Hz ultrawide which doesn't have as much amount of pixels as a 1440p 16:9, but so far it is able to run at 144Hz on HDMI. If it doesn't work, buying a USB-C to Display Port cable should work.
