Good question. HP laptops come with a technology called HP CoolSense. HP CoolSense Technology is a feature in some HP notebook computers that combines hardware, software, and mechanical design to dynamically manage the temperature of your notebook computer, and help keep you comfortable while using it. HP CoolSense Technology uses a motion sensor in your notebook computer to sense when your computer is being used in a stationary or mobile setting, and automatically adjusts the computer performance and fan speed to keep the computer cool. HP CoolSense software allows you to specify your cooling preferences. Use this document to configure and use your HP CoolSense software: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02638953 I hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use this laptop quite often with it sitting in my lap. As long as the vents are free from obstruction I don't need a buffer to keep my legs from bursting into flames. It does get warm, but I wouldn't say hot.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.while hp has coolsense technology on a lot of their laptops on my hp (not an omen) it still gets really really hot. with my laptop on for a long time and on a solid surface like a table or a bed its overall heat will eventually slow down the computer as a whole. perhaps its just getting old, but it kinda sucks that i can be mid game and all of a sudden lag when it starts getting hot
