QuestionI know this is good for gaming but I want to know if this laptop will be good for 3D rendering and animating using mostly 3ds max, maya, and after effects?

- Answer It should be okay as far as laptops go for this price point the specs are nice, and im getting one for cinema4d i will be adding an m.2 ssd for the OS and use a good cooling pad for long renders, also setting in the power setting the max processing from 100% to 99% can keep its already decent temps about 10c cooler this is especially good for longer sessions of games or 3d. I had the 960m version for 3 days and it was nice especially at 1600x900 where it can handle literally anything, but I wanted the 965m/larger screen/ extra ram when I found out I could get it for the same price and have a slightly better (10-25fps more) 1080p gaming experience. Not sure if the ram is replaceable without taking it apart and voiding warranty though so make sure the ram it comes with is enough.

- Answer According to 3dmark firestrike, graphics score for the 965m reached 5,394 and the 970m got a score of 7,680, making the 970m at least 41% more powerful in terms of graphics power. Although the graphics card in this laptop should me more than sufficient for casual to mid-end gaming.

QuestionI am confused, can a 2nd HDD be added like the 15.6" model? One person said they added a 2nd SSD drive and kept their stock HDD for their data, but a rep for HP states no a 2nd drive cannot be added. Thanks..

- Answer I think so and yes, I had the 15 version and will be getting this one, the screen lacks a little brightness in broad daylight but in any other situation it's great, better screen than some of the other supposedly 'gaming laptops' that are cheap from BB.
