It's showing me that the standard electrical mains voltage in Japan is 100 volts, so no step down is needed. Japanese outlets use non-polarized plugs (meaning the slots are the same size) so you'll need an adapter that fits those sockets. Just like in the US, they come in two prong and three prong versions.
