USB-C is solely for USB purposes and not thunderbolt. Connecting a monitor requires thunderbolt, so you're stuck with one unless you use a usb-to-hdmi adapter of some sort
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same issue and I read on a prior response that the USB C port is data only. So a USB C hub with HDMI out will not work. However, USB 3 to HDMI adapter worked for me. I can confirm video works at 1080p resolution without issue. I used the one adjacent to the HMDI out port. Was able to play 4k video on the USB3->HDMI without issue. I dont know if playing 4k video on a 1080p monitor actually pushes more data and tests the limits. I have since found products that do dual HDMI 4k out from a single USB 3 port. Disappointed that USB C data only port was not clearly stated upfront.
