• Yes this would be great for home office use. You might not even need an additional HDD. If you use MS 365 for example you get 1TB of online storage.

• This will do just fine albeit overkill for that purpose. Consider a laptop with better battery life, lighter, and especially an IPS display if you're doing just that.
