I bought this exact model from Best Buy and immediately cracked it open to install more RAM. It has an empty bay and connectors for a 2.5" SATA SSD.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Few of the users mentioned a vacant 2.5" slot. Even HP has confirmed in many answers before. But 2 times they've mentioned 2.5" slot not present including the lastest answer. Since lot of users here rely on HP's response, let's wait for a conclusive answer.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Mikey! Just to clarify, the storage that is included in this computer is an M.2 SSD. Inside of the laptop is a 2.5" tray to add either a SATA hard-drive, or a SATA solid-state drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the storage is expandable. Just cracked mine open when it arrived today to drop in two 16gb Corsair Vengeance cards and a 1TB Samsung 860 EVO. Cloned the C drive to the Samsung EVO and opened it up to remove what turned out to be a dummy drive and am really pleasantly surprised because this was mentioned nowhere in the specs. Still no idea where the 256GB SSD is, but I'll figure that out soon.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just got it and cracked it open and i didnt see an open slot for one like ive seen on other laptops. i dont know if they have it hidden or not.
