I recommend contacting the manufacturer to determine compatibility with HP notebooks. " is pretty lame as you have 3rd pty software installed on it & offer 3rd party products to go with it. Is it compatible with all smartphones & if not, which ones is it not compatible with?. You know this answer & it has been asked about this model laptop for several yrs with no clear response from HP. I was told by the Best Buy Rep that it is compatible with an iPhone & other Smartphones, but you give me the impression by your run-around, beat-around-the-bush answer that it is not.
