“Will this laptop be adequate for photo editing and video creation of home movies from digital cameras? I'm not looking for professional quality...just something to create movies and add titles and background music that could be burned to an external DVD?”

No. It is horrible for editing photos. I highly recommend staying far away from this computer, considering what you're looking for in a laptop.
