“All of a sudden new HP Pavillion says HDMI signal lost.....I was just using it yesterday afternoon...I have completely unplugged all power usbs , nothing is helping. Same message is coming up on the second screen that is connected. Cables are brand new”

It sounds like you have accidently set it to HDMI Input which is used when you want to use the computer as a display. Make sure your second screen is connected into the HDMI Output and ensure the computer is not on the mode to display from the input.
