• read the specs at Hp.com...no door on front. Th eunit opens with removal of a screw. 4 usb 2 ports on back and 1 usb-c on the front. DSXC slot also on front. It has a dvd writer/reader

• Yes, this desktop does have an optical drive. Rear ports: 4 USB 2.0 Type-A, HDMI Out, VGA
