Where is the opening for the DVD/CD Rom on this tower? null

So how can I look or download something from a DVD or CD

This is a crock. I bought this thinking it would have a DVD/CD Rom because of the display of same. Got it home but didn't set it up for a few months. When I did color me surprised it didn't have the DVD/CD Rom. Seeing the opening for it and it looked like it had it why would I question if it had one or not? They shouldn't have even put the slot cover there as it's deceptive. I'm upset as I paid a lot for this product.

Thank you for your question, Pat! This model does not have a DVD/CD drive, which is why there is no opening/button in the picture. The case looks similar across all models in this Pavilion series, but only those with optical drives with have the DVD logo and an Eject button.

Buy and external cd/dvd player.

There is not one. Most PC these days do not have one but one can be purchased for around $40

there is a opening if remove cover,but a standard thin drive wont fit,needs a thinner cd/dvd unit to fit properly-i own 2 and rebuilt one already

If you can get the "slot" space free, you should be able to put an optical drive there, but you would have to use the kind made for laptops, which I think is about 14mm thick. As of two years ago, they were still for sale (I bought one), but I haven't checked the market since then.

As one other person said, there would be a button that opens it, if it did have one. I also had the sad experience with this. I asked the sales person if it had an optical drive, and they said that it did. They were wrong. I do see on on the Best Buy website that appears to have one, because there is a button on the door to open it - although, the specs do not mention a DVD drive. I am in the process of finding out if they can install one. I would think that they should. I am also disappointed with the external drives that Best Buy has on sale. It is hard to tell if the drives will be what you want, because the title does not match the specs sometimes. I have researched what is needed, and you want a player/recorder that says: DVD+/-RW CD-R/RW, and you want speeds of 8x DVD and 24xCD and USB 3.0.

A external cd drive can be bought for under $50. Cheaper to buy ot seperately.
