I bought external LG optical drive with the PC. The drive comes with application software with many features I did not want. I found out that W10 no longer provides a media player in Windows 10 which must be separately purchased. I instead installed VLC medial player for just viewing DVDs (no bloatware). Works great and has nice viewing features. The LG drive was model SP80NB80. SKU 5852919.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought an LG 8x external USB Double Layer drive. SKU 5852919. I did not like the software it came with (lots of stuff I did not want on my computer) so installed VLC media player for playing DVDs. W10 no longer supports playing DVDs unless you order their media player which received poor reviews and is not free. I installed VLC because it is free and I have it on other computers in the house. Only con might be you have to hold onto the drive as you insert a DVD. I did not want to install an internal drive in this PC though it does have a slot on the front panel. I took the easy way out using an USB connection which works great and has no buffering issues. I would probably install the internal optical drive if to do over. I am very happy overall with the purchase except for the software supplied with drive. I deleted it and installed VLC for viewing DVDs. Works great. We use the drive every day.
