Yes, it's right at the front of the tower.

Yes. The mount stands vertically and does NOT have a capture shelf to hold the DVD in place to keep it there while it is withdrawn into the drive. You must snap it onto the hub before you close it. This can allow the DVD to fall off if not properly mounted.
