I just purchased this unit and found it very simple to transfer files from my older Windows 7 tower to the Windows 8. Just ensure that you set up the new Windows 8 unit with the same account name and password that you used for your Windows 7 unit. Good luck!

There is a file folder on the bottom left of the desktop which you can go back and forth from the Start Menu to The Desktop by tapping the windows key. Click the file folder and from there you can access the C:\ drive and transfer files via USB, external hard drive, etc. to the location of your choice. Simply save them from your old computer and transfer to the new one. Hope this helps.
