You can upgrade the hard drive, but you will cause cosmetic damage to the computer. I had my friend who works with computers do it for me and he said it was one of the toughest things he had to do. There are a ton of screws and it may compromise the build of the computer. My mouse pad is a little sunken in on the right side. I put in a Samsung 500 gb ssd m2 format. If you don't use an M2 format, you will need a caddy and the wires to connect it to an m2 port.
