HP also makes good machines (meaning they are reliable and don't break down a lot), so I would recommend it. Depending on the version you buy, this will add $150 - $250 to the machine cost. Because we do not need to have the continual latest and greatest version of Office with all of the different programs, we purchased the version that loaded the latest version of Office (the cheaper version) that will not get updated over time. If you get Microsoft 365, you will get the latest and greatest updates each year. However, this also requires a yearly subscription in addition to the initial higher cost. But if you are a college student, Microsoft 365 may be the better way to go despite the subscription cost to ensure you are current with whatever requirements your college may have.
