Yes you can install a drive. There's a plastic cover on the front that covers an empty drive bay. According to the photos and HP's answer above, it's SUPPOSED to already come with one. However, according to the reviews.. people are saying theirs never came with one. Also, my sister just purchased this computer and it does NOT have a CD/DVD drive installed. Just a plastic panel covering the drive bay slot. In fact, the front panel looks different than the one in the photos (drive slot is in the middle instead of on the top right edge). HP and Best Buy, you need to update your answer and change the photos. Otherwise this is MISLEADING and false advertising.

Yes. It comes with a drive already installed near the top of the front on the right side.
